DARKSTAR - 002 - Details

DARKSTAR carbon 29er.

002 is available in sizes 16", 17.5", 19" and 21". The frame and fork are manufactured for Luxe Wheelworks by Focus Carbon.

I fitted this DARKSTAR with a 1x10 drivetrain and tapered rigid fork. I will ultimately install a Rock Shox Sid suspenson fork. 

The top tube has a bow shape to improve stand-over height and increase lateral rigidity in the frame.

The bottom bracket is a standard threaded unit. This is a nice feature, as compared to BB30 the bearings are not exposed to the elements. Also, standard BB's make for easy installation of the e13 chain guide.

I fitted a 2.4 front tire

A 2.1 tire was mounted in the back and both tires are set-up tubeless. The wheels are Velocity Blunt SL Rims on Chris King ISO Hubs.

This bridge increases lateral rigidity. 

I will eventually cut the cable line to size. 

This DARKSTAR's total weight came out to 20lbs.

Shaped, oversized tubes optimize each area of the frame.

I fitted a 27.2 seatpost with a 30.9 reducer shim.
