Luxe Wheelworks Tech Journal no.15

I built this really nice looking carbon wheelset this week.

The carbon rim has a 50mm depth.
I used the Alchemy ELF front hub, KCNC skewers, and Sapim CX-Ray spokes.

The rear hub is an Alchemy ORC.

There is something very satisfying about using high quality hubs for my wheel builds. I could use cheaper aftermarket hubs but if I did that, my customers would not receive the best possible product.

This wheelset weighs 1292g.

I used brass nipples on the drive side and alloy nipples on the non-drive side.  The nipples are external as opposed to ENVE rims which use internal nipples.

I used alloy nipples on the front wheel.

The front wheel follows a 2 cross pattern.

The Challenge Paris-Roubaix tire are great for the dirt roads we have here in New England. Riding on dirt roads is very fun and offer a unique type of riding experience.

I am very happy with how these wheels came out. Their stiff design and Roubaix style tires should make them very fun to use on all types of road conditions.
