Steel DARKSTAR v2.0 - Preview

White and Black Paint... You just can't go wrong. This DARKSTAR is finished in Diamond Pearl White with Gloss Black logos.
In keeping with the times, I specced a Press Fit 30 Bottom Bracket shell. In addition to augmenting torsional rigidity, the PF30 Shell will allow me to use the super light, narrow q-factor, SRAM RED PF30 BB and Crankset.

The Pear to Pentagonal shaped down tube decreases flex in the head tube bottom bracket area. This is important in keeping the bike on its line and razor sharp during fast descending and fast hard cornering when little mistakes can cost you big time.

Another step taken to minimize flex are the Steel DARKSTAR's machined, hooded dropouts. Plus, they look cool.

Tig welded steel bikes aren't heavy, but they aren't light either! To make this machine competition ready, I will assemble it with SRAM RED, a carbon PRO bar/stem with matching seatpost and some carbon tubular wheels (naturally).

The 44mm head tube allows me to use a super stiff, tapered, carbon fork.

The water bottle bosses are brazed not rivited, which is a really nice feature as you'll never have to worry about rivet failure.

Also, the down tube cable stops are brazed on and it is a straight-up stop, ie: no threaded barrel adjusters... Who uses those things anyways?!

Accidents happen. The DARKSTAR Steel comes with an aluminum, replaceable derailleur hanger.

Sexy curves.

Distinct lines. Cost on a custom steel DARKSTAR Frame and ENVE Tapered Fork is 2600USD. Contact me if you are interesting.
